An exploration in form, craft, and spatial ambiguity. Created as a playful yet deliberate studio exercise, the piece served as both a prototype and a practice in making—an excuse to build, test, and be physically present in the act of design within the city.

Referencing Magritte’s famous provocation “Ceci n’est pas une pipe”, the installation toys with perception and expectation. Is it furniture, or is it sculpture? Is it usable, or purely visual? It occupies that in-between space—absurd, functional, formal, and slightly surreal.

The exaggerated, rounded forms distort scale and challenge conventional proportions of a table, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship to everyday objects. What defines utility? Where does design end and art begin?

This piece is less about solving a problem and more about asking questions—about function, aesthetics, and the joy of simply making.
